Hi All,

Just joined this forum and would like to congratulate you all for becoming ex-smokers.

I'm on day 3 now, having smoked approx 20 a day.

Am using the NRT (lozenges) and not doing too bad. Usual ups and downs but it's getting less...

Hang in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best wishes

Ron

Hi Ron - welcome to the forum. This is the place to come for advice and support and well done on your quit so far.

Good luck - I am sure you can do this. xx

Thanks Jan/Kaz,

I found that so far keeping myself busy works best (no time to think about it).

For the real cravings the lozenges seem to work well. Using around 4 a day so far, they last at least 2 hours !!

Fortunately it's nearly bedtime, so hopefully fast asleep and tomorrow morning another new day as a non-smoker.

I feel great :D

Hi Ron

I quit using lozenges too.

They help but IMHO it is important that you tackle the way to think of smoking too if you are to succeed.

Quitting smoking is not a sacrifice it is a choice for a better life. Read and educate yourself about nicotine addiction.

Hi Ronnie

for most, the first week is the worst. Tomorrow you will be halfway through your first week and well on the way to quitting.

It may be an idea to get a quitmeter, (plenty here

whyquit.com/whyquit/LinksDM... I like harry's)

they help you chart your progression and watching the milestones ticking over is a great incentive.

All the best
