Well as a coffee drinker, I found that I was certainly drinking more, but have cut back to normal.
I cut down on my coffee drinking during my first month of not smoking, but now drink to much of it,im addicted to the caffeine I guess.
I cut down on my caffeine intake for the first couple of weeks....mainly a disassociation thing (tea+fag=Helen) but now find that i am still drinking less normal tea but more coffee and herbal teas (0 caffeine??), bizarre can't get enough peppermint, cammomille (sp?) or earl grey at the moment!!! glad its not just me!!
I read somewhere that a smoker needs twice as much caffiene to get an effect that a non-smoker - and ex-smokers can easily get caught out by inadvertantly taking in too much caffiene, because the only need half as much as before to get the same effect.
Man, that took a long while to make a teeny point, didn't it?
Anyway - I always used to drink a lot of coffee at work, and have been making a conscious effort to not drink as much. I find I really don't need it now and have gone from at least 10 coffee's a day to around 4 plus at least 2 litres of water.
my amount of coffee no change, though I thought I must reduce it. I can stop smoking but not coffee
I decided to cut down on coffee only for sleep reasons,I work nights and I have to sleep and it been hard lately.......
I have never been much of a coffee drinker but could drink gallons of tea. I don't but do try and drink water in between tea breaks.
I cut down my coffee initially due to association. Tried tea for a couple of days and tbh, eveything tasted awful for the first day, a bit like poison!! Now I'm slowly getting my taste back, I enjoy my coffee but not drinking half as much purely due to not needing it as no ciggie to go with it!!
I have noticed that I haven't had as many headaches, whether thats down to caffeine or nicotine withdrawal I'm not sure but, bladder is better too, must be because they are both stimulants and affect the bladder!
