but does it seem like there are a hell of a lot more smokers about when you are trying to give up? Just took a walk around Liverpool Street station area (weather down here is lovely by the way) and every where I looked there they were, smoking away.
Outside thier office blocks, all huddled together under the row of shops on London Wall & outside the pubs. As I walked passed them I could smell the tobaco but I held my head up high and my nerve and thought to myself "I am so glad I am not one of you anymore"
Ps Was not sure what forum to post this in

I never realised so many people at work smoke - I now smile to myself as they all troop outside in the cold (sometimes wet) have their fix and troop back in again.
Thinking to myself, 4 weeks ago that was me - freezing cold and wet just to feed myself with poison. Now I just don't do that - and most of them haven't noticed!
If I bump into them in a corridor they chat as if nothings changed - only occasionally does one say "where've you been, not seen you in ages!". That strikes me as wierd... I actually miss the chats I had with people out there, but it seems those smoking are happy as long as they get their fix! They're not interested in the people at all... another reason us ex-smokers are better off.
It does settle down, but initially it seems like you have a smoker detector, and I still notice if approaching drivers are fagging it!
On my last quit I noticed it too, especially other drivers. As you say it does settle down and you don't take any notice of it so much later on in the quit.
i was walking through town today at lunch and noticed sooo many people sat on the benches outside the shopping centre fagging it...never noticed before! really odd!! oh and got to sit inside at the cafe with my coffee

That's going to be one of the nice parts of quitting. Sitting inside and having a drink while others have to go outside. Especially in winter. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
