Sad to say - here I am again
Day One: Sad to say - here I am again - No Smoking Day
Day One
Welcome back
I guess that means that you have caved and then decided to try again?
In a way that's good - I mean cavings never good, but at least you have the guts to try again and we all know that most successful quitters have tried before.
Good luck
Welcome back. Never thought you had caved ... just moved on..
You've done it once, you can do it again!
Hi there,
Never good to see someone has caved, but good to see you back at it.
How long were you quit, then smoking again?
Anyway, good luck with it,
Cheers
Nic
I have almost completed 8 months - then stupidity struck!!! - don't ask, why because I really have no excuse - or no reason for that matter - here I am today - back on day one!
That's a long time quit, really sorry.
I always think that a failed attempt teaches us something we can use in the one to make it stick.
But I suppose the only answer is just don't smoke again, simple to say but tough to do!
Best of luck with it, and keep us posted with your progress.
Cheers
Nic

I don't know if complacency has had anything to do with it, but this has been as hard a time, as any during my quit. Congratulations though, on making the decision to quit again. You WILL do it this time. :D

What a pity Sue doesn't still have her "Kicking Butt" nickname. Then your team name could have been :
Jans Hairy Butt ;)

Josie, sorry to hear you've been struggling...sooo hope things are looking better now?
However, your post does help me - cos I'm into my 7th month now and some days are still a struggle:confused: Obviously not a physical crave but in the mind...nightmare...
And reading some posts from people quit for far less time who say they never even think about smoking...well one could feel pretty useless!!
As I said hope things looking up...
nicky
Nicky,
I understand that it is helpful to see others going through the same as you, but please never feel useless if you are struggling and others are not.
Compared to my grandfather, my quitting history is pathetic - one day at the age of about 70 he decided that he smoking was making him cough too much, so he put down his pipe and never smoked again, with apparently no cravings and he lived more than 10 years after. He had never tried to quit before, but a more stubborn man you could not meet.
Everyone is different, some of us will find it easy others will find it harder but all of us can manage it if we stay strong.
all the best
Nic
Hey, Jan - good luck for tomorrow, how are you finding the Champix so far?
Not sure I like your team name (*tut tut)
*(waves) to Linda - I pop my head in quite often but I just don't seem to have as much spare time these days Hope your quit is going well
well the Champix worked great for me the last time - I am hoping that it has the same effects this time.
All the best to everyone else that is early in their quit.
And to the old timers too - stick with it - it's worth it!

nickyHi Nicky, yes, that's exactly it ! It isn't a physical crave now, as it was in the beginning, it's all in the mind. And l must admit that l was totally unprepared for it. I'm pleased to say that it seems to have passed now, - well for the time being at least. Tee Hee. To tell the truth, l felt a bit loathe to admit to cravings after such a long time in case it disheartened the newbies, but decided to in order that other long timers who maybe were feeling the same, would not feel alone.

It seems that quite a few us did about the same time. Some have come back and some haven't. I intend to conquer it for good this time. Didn't enjoy smoking the things anyway.

Hi Barbara - So far so good today, had a couple of cravings but didn't last long. Felt really sick and had stomach pain yesterday just after I had taken the first blue tablet. Not surprising really as I hadn't had anything to eat although I was surprised that it worked so quickly. Had another last night with food and felt fine and again this morning. My two work colleagues are feeling sick at the moment so maybe it wasn't the tablet, who knows!!!
Team name was UE's idea but I think it is going to stick (not sure whether that's good or bad). Think it might be better to shorten it to JHB.
Take care Barbara and well done on your quit. xxxx
JHB - much better I can live with that. That UE has the mind of a sewer rat
Stick in there, all of you. You know the score, and I've noticed that you smell better already lol! :D

The name must never be shortened - it must be recited in full every time the team is referred to.
Good luck to all 3 of you.

Hi Sue, yes the champix works just as well if not better the 2nd time as i'm experiencing now!!
Does seem to be the 8th or 9th month causes problems- I caved after nearly 9 months for some inexplicable reason.
Have stopped and started but feel good now this is 10th day of no nicotine.
Reducing champix next two weeks as haven't got much!!
Linda, you're doing ace - any idea what's happened to Bill G?

Linda, you're doing ace - any idea what's happened to Bill G?Hi Pammy, what is it about the 8th and 9th month? They were 2 very uncomfortable months for me and l could easily have caved. The last 2 weeks have been easier, goodness know why. What has happened to Jan24, l haven't seen her for a while.

Hi Jan Yes Im with you and you Pammy. No sign of BillG. Hope no news is good news. xxxxxxxx

Im still doing ok. I got myself a new job which keeps me occupied.

Hi Flippy, i'm really glad to see that you are still quit. You've done 3 months already, yippee. And you WILL STAY QUIT this time, 'cos l won't have it any other way. Seriously tho', i think that you will do it this time because, deep down, you really do not want to be a smoker.

Hi all
Thanks for the extra infor of champix the second time around - does help to know others have found it works just as well
Had a email from BillG saying he was still quit - will have to check when it was dated as it could have been an old one - hope he's OK
regards
Sue
