Well done Nicky, I just told my Mum that i have quit and she was over the moon, really pleased for me. I lost an uncle, her only brother through throat cancer and have another uncle on my Dads side with the same awful disease.
Sorry to put a downer on your tread, dont mean to:eek:
I hope that your family are proud of your brave decision to quit and they give you all the support and encouragement you deserve
Keep up the good work
Thanks guys, great as ever to have your support..

Well done you. I'm the same as you Nicky, it's taken me over 40 years to kick the habit. It's a very strange feeling not lighting up but it is getting easier to deal with and yes let's hope we get a hot summer this year. Did you get flooded last year?
Not a problem Daytona - a timely & appropriate reminder as to why we are doing this...
Good Luck with your quit - how far down the line are you?

No avoided the flooding last year - it was further south, Sheffield&Hull I think... I'm just south of Middlesbrough - the Frozen North as my family call it!!

Hi Nicky,
Am just a few days ahead of you guys, and feel real good about this quit.
I am reducing the dose of Champix and that seem tobe going O.K.
Some days i dont even think about smoking, until i smell the OH when she comes in after a crafty:eek:
I have been quit for 2 Months, 1 Week, 6 Days, 12 hours, 10 minutes and 13 seconds (74 days). I have saved £260.76 by not smoking 1,490 cigarettes. I have saved 5 Days, 4 hours and 10 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 20/03/2008 23:24
WELL DONE!!
As another who had smoked for over 40 years, it seems odd not to have to have a packet of cigs/baccy around sometimes. But it is SOOOOOOOO worth it.
To all the newbies if we oldies can do it, so can you by whatever method you choose and that suits you.
