Sadly, the statistics dictate that few of your quit buddies would reach the magic 12 months. Wouldn't it be lovely though if being part of a forum such as this was demonstrated to be a good way to increase those chances and most of your old team popped by too..

Hi everyone and thanks for all your fantastic comments above. It's because of that sort of sentiment and support that I'm where I am today - 12 months to the day since I last smoked a cigarette. I think I was over a week in to my quit before I discovered this board and remember submitting my first post and being blown away when in no time I received loads of replies in support.

After that I had some real downs at times and coming on this board and venting my spleen once in a while helped enormously to get through and keep me going. I can remember so clearly smoking my last cigarette and then throwing the remaining two from the pack away and the sense of trepidation at having to go it alone without my crutch. Now I don't need cigarettes and I really don't think I'm ever going back.

Thanks again for the support of all those who quit with me and good luck to all the newer members.
