Apologies in advance, but I need a rant...you have been warned!
Okay...so day 2 and still smoke free, although today has been a toughie. I was beginning to think Champix was having little or no effect! For some bizarre reason, I've had strong cravings today. Anyway, made it home from work without faltering, so maybe Champix is doing it's job after all.
Only got to last till bedtime...Easy-peasy! (Roll on bedtime!)
Actually, now that I'm home, the cravings don't seem to be nearly as bad. Now that could be for one of two reasons...
Firstly, I have been in the company of smokers all day, so maybe that was affecting my desire to smoke. But if that is the reason, then I need to get over that. Can't live the rest of my life avoiding smokers!
Secondly, I've been looking forward to getting on here all day. Honestly...the day couldn't have passed any slower! There is shedloads of inspiration to be got from this site, and I'm starting to think I need regular doses of it!
Either way, I'm hoping it's a passing phase. Maybe it's just 'early days'.
Tonight I'm going to read Andy Marshall's book, 'stopping's easy'. Between that and this forum, I should be well fired up!
Anyway, no doubt I'll be back here later on with another pointless rant, for which I'm truly sorry...but it really does help!
Well done to all the non smokers. Keep up the great work.

Hey, rant away! I like to read other peoples rants
I know what you mean re the inspiration on here, theres just no way I would have got this far without my quit buddies and everyone else. I just would not have done it. For that, I am ever grateful!
Your doing really well inspite of all the people puffing away like chimneys.
You won't need to avoid smokers for the rest of your life, once you have beaten your nicotine addiction you will feel sorry for people who NEED to smoke to feed their addiction. You won't have that NEED.
Well, to take my mind of the dreaded weed this evening, I had a wee read at Andy Marshall's book. Excellent! That's given me plenty to think about.
Feel nice and strong tonight, between that and the encouragement from the forum...especially my new found team members, I feel fairly optimistic about day 3. Hope I still feel that way tomorrow morning!
Anyway, before I disappear for the night, I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone on the forum for the support and encouragement I've received. It really has been first class. What a great place to be
I'm afraid tomorrow's offering is likely to be just as pointless, and just as random as today and yesterday, but nonetheless, I'm looking forward to posting in the Day 3 section!
Not pointless at all and I couldn't have put it better myself.
The days will fly by with the team spirit behind us. Great team and great forum
I must say, Day 2 wasn't so bad. The evenings are easiest for me coz I didn't smoke as much then due to housework, 'the soaps' etc... so apart from a few crave episodes this afternoon it wasn't too bad
