Minor bimp Barb, I don't think one drag on a fag constitutes starting smoking again
Have fun on the xbox, roll on day 5.

I had a blip as well. I think it must be a weekend/day 3 thing combined. Yes I consider myself to be on day 4 because this is the 4th day that I have considered myself a non smoker.
yes 4 years is long... so is the 12 that smokers take of their lives
well thats how long it might take you to have the determination to go for it again.
this is the first time I have tried to stop and I feel that if I were to give in now it may be quite some time before I would be bothered to do it again.... its quite the battle.
it acually that thought that is giving me that wee extra bit of strength..... i don't want to be a smelly stinking smoker again.
Good for you, bobby. Keep up your great attitude and it will see you through. My willpower has taken a battering today/tonight, but I'm still here! Nearly, very nearly took a drag on my sis's cig tonight, but I just KNEW if I did I'd feel so darn disappointed in myself. I'm going CT too and its an added incentive knowing I am nicotine free
To you nortie ones who took a drag...go join Louise on the nortie step pls!
What does everyone else think re smoking a couple of cigs...would it put you back to day one do think?

I suppose it all depends on the sort of person you are. When i told my other half last week that i was stopping smoking she said why don't you start by cutting down ? i said to her that it has to be all or nothing.
Approx 10/12 years ago i gave up smoking for 3 years. It made me feel great knowing that i'd actually managed to stop smoking, then one night out with the lads, one too many sherbets, thought to myself "Wonder what a fag tastes like", had a fag.........WOW What a head rush, and that was it, i was a smoker again. Ok, i wasn't back on 20+ a day over night, instead i would lie to myself......i'll just have one when i go out for a drink, then i'd lie to myself and say i'll just have one in the evenings, then it would be I'll just have one in the mornings and one in the evenings, then bang.....back to 20 a day before i knew it.
So, don't know about anyone else but i know if i had 1 fag that would be it, i'd be a smoker again.

Hi team, bad to hear some aren't having such a good time of it When I'm getting cravings I am breathing deep and doing exercises, even if its just going up and down the stairs, touching toes or sit-ups in front of the telly. This helps my cravings get weak so I can sope with them better.
Hope you all have a good day Wheres the rest of the team? Are they still all quit?
Still here, looks like Team D-Day are going great guns
I have been quit for 4 Days, 11 hours, 20 minutes and 44 seconds (4 days). I have saved £18.43 by not smoking 134 cigarettes. I have saved 11 hours and 10 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 12/03/2008 00:00
Of course it would! Don't do it. If we all thought like it would be National Not Smoking Just Social Smoking Day. You either smoke or don't. If you could honestly say you could have one cigarette on your birthday and one at New Year I'd believe you but I don't think anyone here belongs to that club yet. It's a very exclusive club with not many members.
Stop fooling yourself and just take a couple of deep breaths or go for a nap.
I'm saying this as much for my own sake as yours. Of course I too would love to believe that a couple of fags don't make me a smoker but it's not true.
Where did you get your fags so cheap? (Note past tense, as of course you are no longer interested in the price of fags, and neither am I.)
If I've just done my sums correctly, your quit meter is assuming a pack of 20 costs 70p or thereabouts?
I have been quit for 4 Days, 3 hours, 42 minutes and 5 seconds (4 days). I have saved £37.88 by not smoking 166 cigarettes. I have saved 13 hours and 50 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 12/03/2008 12:07
mmmmm interesting reading. This is the first time ive been online today so am prob a little late.
I think if I even had a drag of a fag it would start me on that rocky ruin again. Id rather be narky, weepy, etc etc rather than start smoking again.
Keep strong everyone, I believe things will get easier and we're all here to help each other through the bad times and be happy for each other in the good times.
I smoked G/V from abroad and a pouch of 50 gms would last me about 2 weeks. So the price of that and the filters and papers worked out roughly £5 aweek.
