Almost 4 weeks for me and no weight gain so far.:)

Advice? Don't replace 20 cigaretees with 20 bars of chocolate!

Plenty fresh fruit, veg, water - eat healthy

Increase activity - now that doesn't mean spend all the money you've saved on a gym membership - just a brisk walk will do - anything, as long as you actually increase your activity level a wee bit

Lastly, don't worry about weight gain. Even if we do put on a few pounds initially, we can tackle that later on, when we are more confident in our quit

Good luck!

I have put on 4 pounds in 6 weeks.

I was at my doctors on Friday and he said that the "average" weight gain is 1/2 a stone.

Have to say I would have thought that is an understatement.

I haven't noticed much change to my eating habits, but apparently nicotine slows the metabolism -hence the gain.

I'm going fpr a swim couple of times a week, aqua arobics and trying to do a lot more walking.

I'm not gonna worry too much about the weight at the mo, just concentrate on my quit.

when i'm hungry i eat, when i'm not hungry i eat.

gained about 4 pounds in 4 dys LOL, plus been pumping it down the gym, still gaining. I am not thin, i am not fat though either, weigh about 14 stone, 5ft 10". weighed 13 stone 10 last week. I can see my belly hanging badly over my jeans and my hips desperate to break free from my belt (i may be exagerrating been told i don't look fat), i can see personally what is happening to my body though - i am defo gaining weight.

I don't give a damn though, i'll be happy to gain a stone.

it is a lot easier to lose weight than give up smoking, plus when you given up smoking you can achieve anything, i'm sure.

losing 4 or 5 pounds or even a stone will be a piece of cake compared to this grief.

I am sure I've put a few pounds on this week (refuse to weigh myself but clothing getting tight )

I keep thinking "Once the better weather comes in......."

Anyway, I know why.....been munching a lot of chocolate and sweets lately

*mental note to self STOP IT WOMAN!*

And, to steal and adapt Dubbs quote " I gained a few pounds but I do not smoke" (Love it Dubbs :))

been pumping it down the gym, still gaining.

Don't forget muscle weighs more than fat ;)
