Hi, thought that it might be useful to join this forum, so when times are difficult I will be able to seek advice from others going through the same thing. Wanted to quit for quite some time, but have also been battling hard with weight gain. Have lost 5 stone and 9 pounds since last May and this is day three for me not smoking. I am pleased that I have stuck three days, and think that I am doing well (although the husband will say that I am really grumpy! and touchy!) but am really concerned that I will pile the weight back on.
Well done to everyone on here that has succeeded

Welcome Karen and congratulations on getting to Day 3 AND on that fantastic weight loss I've been stopped over 3 weeks now and haven't gained any weight, just be careful what you're snacking on to replace those ciggies (Lots of tips here in the threads)
It's great to come here for a chat, a moan, or just to take your mind of whatever is niggling at it
Tell Hubby we say that you are allowed to be grumpy, so there
I have been quit for 3 Weeks, 2 Days, 22 hours, 41 minutes and 42 seconds (23 days). I have saved £119.71 by not smoking 478 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day, 15 hours and 50 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 17/02/2008 22:00
Thanks to you all for the messages of encouragement - nearly another 24 hours. I am using the lozenger mints and have to say that they seem to be working. Also drinking lots of water to fill me up, hopefully stopping any snacking. Are any of you feeling snappy and grumpy like me, and does this last for long?
