Hi Maddy

No not all all Linda. And its not stupid that you caved at what must have been a really stressful time. Being a smoker myself (or ex smoker!) its easy to understand how you succumbed to a ciggie.

This is my 2rd serious attempt at quitting, I think. I lose track! I've had a fair few half hearted attempts but I don't really count those. I went two years last time without a ciggie.

Know exactly how you feel . Have been wondering when and if I'll ever feel 'home and hosed' . Not about to run out and buy some fags - just a vague sense of incompleteness . Almost at the 3 month mark . Ho hum .

Lilacinbloom why are you posting in a post that is over 9 years old and commenting which is irrelevant to the post which is looking for old members??? Can you please refrain from posting in old posts (can see this by hovering your cursor over the little grey clock or date within a post/reply. I am going to close off replying on this post now....

We are still here as well. :)

Now appraoaching 9 months ciggie free.

As you say, we also still have the occasional moment when you think God it would be nice to have a ciggy!

There is NO nice ciggy.

The feeling goes away as quick as it came.

We really feel this time we have cracked it.

It has not been easy (I am still amazed that we have done it) , but it is well worth the effort.

We wish you all the luck.

:)

Good question...and yes, but not that often thank god!!! There are times that i miss the stupid things but it goes as quick as it comes! I just remind myself of how far i have come and how hard it was in the beginning. Those thoughts pull me right through to keeping me where i am today:)

*I have begun month 7!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

The desire to smoke for us is still there, but we deal with it:).

I remember my father quit for 2 years and then going back on the ciggies.

When I spoke to him he said that he felt he had it under control and that one ciggy after dinner would not get him back smoking.

One led to many and he now smokes 30 a day.

I cannot critizice, as I know what it is like to quit.

It just makes me stronger knowing that I cannot have one. I do not need ciggies.:)

It has been a long road to say the least!

It has been the best thing we have ever done.

We have saved a god damn fortune but I don't know what the wife has spent it on!!!!

Keep it up peops. :)
