Hi everyone...I was a pack a day smoker for 30+ years and have now been smoke free for 2 months - HUGE thanks to Champix. It has made my quit basically easy no craving / crankiness worth mentioning. A bit of nausea at first, I need to eat before I take it.
I have 2 weeks left of my prescription and was wondering if there was anyone out there who did the 12 weeks and is still smoke free? And how does it feel when you stop Champix, do you start to get cravings again? Some 'friends' (ex-smokers to boot) have planted those seeds of doubt and now with only 2 weeks left, it's starting to play on my mind.
PS Really like the website - tons of good stuff!!

Hi Loulee iam on champix since dec 27- quit date jan2-08 i also am afraid of the ending's of the program-smoked since I was 12 and i am 42 now. The sleeping is killing me my dr. gave me ativan I take it a couple of nights and then take a break.I dont want to get hooked on this now,but I am sooo tired its not funny,Im thinking of taking just 1mg but I dont want to mess it up.
The first few weeks into my quit I was totally EXHAUSTED think it might be ole nicotine withdrawal - I've read / heard that our poor poisoned bodies need to heal and sleep is how some of us handle it. It could be the Champix too, hard to say. Maybe talk to your dr about lowering your dose?
I guess I'm just a little worried for the end, I don't know what to expect - but I guess it can't be worse the smoking.
