struggling on day 1 !: hi all im glad to of... - No Smoking Day
struggling on day 1 !
Congratulations! No matter how many attempts it takes you're moving closer to being totally smokefree - how good is that?! Hope your day 1 is going ok, there's quite a lot of 'newbies' around at the moment what with new year so you shouldn't be short of people to chat to.
Hi Andy, welcome and congratulations on deciding to quit. I smoked 40+ a day for 47 years, and quit on 01/01/08. I am on Champix. The 1st 3 days l think are the hardest, but if you come on here and chat when you are having a bad craving, you'll find that by the time you have read a few posts, and maybe posted yourself, it will have passed. Keep strong.
Josie

Some days are better than other but it will be so worth it. x
Hi Andy,
I've just made it through day one. This is about my 6th attempt to give up (I think - I've tried so many times). Champix for me this time. I smoked 20+ per day for nearly 34 years.
We can do it - just take an hour at a time, you'll get there.
Well done Andy, for making one of the best decisions ever.
Anytime your having a bad time, just come on here. Even if you have to just rant. We've all been where you are.
Roz - Just goes to show we never give up ! This is my 7th quit (after trying everything going) I'm on Champix too. All other methods didn't suit and I succumbed miserably each time after a couple of weeks. I'll be honest this champix has made the world of difference to me. Ok its not a magic pill and you still need a certain amount of willpower but its working for me! Its been 31/2mths since my last fag!

Karen,
That's so heartening to hear!. I agree, it's unbelievable the difference this time, but I also agree - you still need willpower.
Well done you - someone to look up to and be inspired by - thank you.
