I'm still a non smoker even though i had one and a half on Saturday
Managed Friday nights girly night at my friends, had an empty plastic bottle for comfort to hold and was chewing a lollipop stick, very tough going but managed.
Saturday night at other friends their house measures proved far too large and i ended up smoking their cigs.
Woke up in the morning not thinking about it and not had a craving since
The drinking thing is going to prove really difficult, any suggestions of help there?
Hope the rest of you are doing well and still going.

Fair play Lynnzer, we all know from experience just how hard it is not to have a couple of cigs when you're having a few shots of the liquid lifesaver.
I think that the only thing that worked for me was getting totally and utterly leathered. That way I can't remember if I've had a cig or not ! (ha ha, I'm only joking, I haven't had any. Well at least I don't think I have!)
The key for me and er indoors was just not to hang about with smokers for a bit. And every time I see them spark up, I just tell meself that I feel sick and stuff. It soon puts me off. Whenever I fancy one, I remember what it was like in the smoking room at manchester airport just before I went away on holiday. How I couldn't breathe properly. Just how bad I smelt (I even had to go and rob some testers from the perfume department to disguise the smell on my clothes before I got on the 'plane etc etc)
It's not meant to be easy. That's why it's soooooo rewarding when you've done it !!
You CAN do it. That's how you've got this far and don't smoke for the rest of the time. Stick with it - and come and have a good moan on here whenever you need to. We've all bin there !

It does get eaiser but this is still the hardest time for us.
When drinking you just have to double your willpower for saying no.
The thing is that if you smoke when you drink, you will never get to the stage where the quit gets eaiser. This only comes from having no nicotine.
You just make things harder for yourself if you have the odd ciggy while drinking. I have been there and done that so many times, i will only smoke when i drink. It does not work.
i know that alcohol and cigs are like cheese and biscuits, they just seem to go so well together.
You must learn to enjoy the Cheese without the biscuits.
this may or may not be helpful but i go out hungry
one you get legless quicker and it makes a cheaper night and you can then promise your self a hot and spicy pizza on the way home
that way you think of pizza all night and not ciggies
though can i suggest that you wash your hands after the hot and spicy pizza because well you don't want to know but it has happened twice to me and it flippen hurts
Brilliant Boudee. I laughed out loud (mainly because I can imagine what happened!). That's soooooo funny....................I might make sure I get some hot spicy flavour on the tip of my tongue the next time I'm out with the Shark. And on me hands...........................I'm confident that it would help to keep things moving along........................................
loving you guys loads. Just discovered that a couple (few) voddys gets me through. Funny thing is that although I love a drink and used to love a ciggie as well, the not having a smoke doesn't bother me..... I just drink more (hiccup). Bring on week 2, only another two days to go.
Maybe i should practice and have vodkas every night then when i'm with my friends out at the pub or round at theirs it might not seem so bad!!
No cravings yesterday, today i'm fine too. Feeling like s**t though, feel like i've gone 10 rounds with Tyson. Not sure if it something do do with the quitting.
I have mild asthma (yes i know i shouldn't have smoked with that) and now i'm needing my inhaler and finding breathing a wee bit tighter than normal.
Looking forward to getting home from work having a nice hot bath and an early night.
Maby just dont drink for the first few months. I cant see what the obsession in this country is these days about getting drunk all the time. Its probably worse than smoking
I've been out a few times since I stopped smoking and I just don't drink at all, or if I do I have no more than a couple and I havnt had any cravings while being out. Its mainly when I get home and have a coffee

May be its an effect from the champix cos although I used to enjoy a cig with booze. I just like a glass of wine now and not smoking doesn't bother me one bit!:D
Giving up Cigs is bad enough i'm not going to give up the booze as well!!
I'm not obsessed with getting drunk , i just like to have a few social glasses of wine with my friends whilst having a nice meal and occasionally one of them cracks open the JD's and Vodkas.
The way you suggested that was as if i was one of those chavs that walks about with her belly hanging out her top with a bottle of buckfast in my hand and drinking until i can't stand up!! Maybe i'm a little tetchy lol
Hehe, sorry my post wasnt entirely aimed at you, and I dont really know you yet. I was really aiming at the youth culture that do pretty much as you stated above.
I do understand what you're saying, and I myself have had one or two drinks since I've been stopped. Its not actually as bad as it seemed it might be to me. I enjoyed it just as much.
