You are back craving because you are feeding Mr nic and he is starting to come back alive. I know done it myself after 6 month listern mate be kined to your self an stop having any smokes at all get your self back on track before its to late and you back smoking more than before your quit. Lrt us know how things go good luck linda xxxxxxx
It's fairly common to crave again after 3 months. I don't really know why but I feel it is as though I have done so well, the odd one won't matter, I deserve it , it's ok etc etc etc
Suffice to say, this is a dangerous time and one can lead to another then a habit can quickly be reestablished!
I have started again at three months before, and another quit at 8 months!
After 6 months, really don't even want one!! as long as there have been no blips, to me the secret will be when I have 6 months, blip free under my belt!!
Convincing your self you can just dabble and smoke a but is the downfall of many quits. Addiction does not work that way... it takes years to develop but once its there it will come back at you full force.
I went through this so many times... cutting myeslf deals on smoking... only in bars... only on weekends etc etc never worked. I am at it again trying to quit. I do know for sure this time that I cannot dabble that if I have one I will be starting the whole struggle over.
My advise Tim is if you want to not smoke you need to stop entirely. Remember how tough it was to get where you are why go throught it all again remember the downsides of being a full blown smoker... the cost.. the smell.. the coughing... the risks do you want this? It is easy to enjoy them before they suck you back in fully then its too late the joy is gone and the addiction is what you are stuck with.
Good luck I hope you manage to get back on the wagon... I hope I make it as far as you have. I know I dont want to go through this crap again.
So glad you came to realise you were getting hooked again wish i had used my head. Learn by others mistakes good luck let us know how your doing Linda xxxx
well done Tim, keep focussed mate, it's worth it. I know exactly where you're coming from, I've been there so many times. Even so, I too have thought "Ahh, what if i just have one in the mornings with a nice cup of coffee, surely that can't hurt right and if I'm disciplined, it won't take over..."
NOOOOOOOO. I doesn't work like that. It's a case of all or nothing. So make it nothing!

Hasn't that been the downfall of all us serial quitters!
I know its been mine!
In my previous quits I would of been at that stage by now and would be at the point when I smoking 1 or 2 a day and trying to hide it from the wife with loads of deodorant.
My motto this quit has been 'NOT A SINGLE PUFF!' I can't be a social smoker.
Also my dad dying of lung cancer last month has also strengthen my willpower ten fold.
Hello Steve, good to see you are still on 'quit smoking band wagon' with the rest of us! Keep up the good work!
Oh I Know What Your Going Through, 10 Years Ago I Quit For 3 Months Fooling Myself I Was In Control And Could Take It Or Leave It. Thats Why I Must Beat It This Time. Its Taken Me 10 Years To Dare Give It A Go Again. I Know If I Start Down That Path I Prob Hvnt Got Another 10 Years To Get Brave, Stay Strong We Are All With You. X
Hi Barney, nice to see you too! I wonder what we can call a serial quitter who has finally managed to do it. Can't be 'serial', right? Since that would be imply continuation. God, I must be bored today.
hey, Dossydo, you're not wrong! How do you get your caps to do that?!
been about 107 ish days since smoking but have cheated a bit with smoking the odd ciggie.
but the last 3 days i have smoked 2 a day and getting to like it again which is wrong.
i have chucked the smokes away but am pulling my head out why after 3 months of being a non smoker the cravings are coming back in waves.
any idea people woould be great.
tim
Im in exactly the same place as you Tim, more or less three months of quitting and started havin the odd fag again. Not good.
Im now back at the start and finding it rather hard to put it lightly which just goes to show, that once again I was reliant on them.
I have accepted the fact now that I will always be a nicotine addict and I cant have the odd fag because it will never stop there.
I want and HAVE to beat this addiction and I refuse to let it get the better of me even if I end up back at day 1 again and again I will make it in the end!!
Keep ur chin up Tim it will get better, I know how hard it is!!!!!
I've been here and there, you know.. In the Carpathians for a while, making my piece with Uncle Dracula and back now for a while.
Been prowling the forum and trying to catch up.. I see that I missed some drama in the form of the clare-student person! Nicely dealt with by you all I have to say!
