Most people will probably have no problems coming off champix. However some people have , i came across an 130 page discussion and find that some people had wished they had known ,so they could wean off them.
I thought i would let people know here so they are at least prepared .
They have also come off chantix recommending this
1 week-1/2mg twice a day
1 week-1/2mg once a day
1 week-1/4mg once a day
1 week-1/4 once every other day
Off of the Chantix
It does say on the instructions that doctor might recommend weaning off ,but some of our doctors know little about chantix
I found it by searching

Thanks Justintime that is really helpful - there are loads of people who need info like that so I for one will print it off and have it to hand for when others ask.
thankyou so much for that, i'm just about to phone the doc to get my last lot, that will take me up to 3 months, I dont think they will do the extended use but I will ask.
Ive been hoarding them by not taking the ones Ive forgotten (if you see what I mean) just for this very reason I want to wean myself off them slowly but wasnt sure how. Ive got 16 spare so far.

CHANTIX - PROBLEMS AFTER QUITTING OR WEANING
Thanks for your very helpful post Justintime............searching for the very same info led me to this forum.
I am lucky .I have stopped Chantix 5 days ago now. They helped me to quit in the first place.I did crave but each day has got better.I now feel better without
Just to let you know...I have been on them twice, abrupt stop. No side affects noted...no depression, anger, behavior issues ect, except that with the stress I am smoking again...see earlier post.
Thanks very informative, i am in the process of coming off the champix when i spoke to doctor he advised cutting down to one tablet a day so i have been cut down for a week and feeling fine, that was at the end of week8, i was going to do the full 12 weeks then cut down but after speaking to the doc we decided to try straight away.
Yes, has to say nice post. I am steve and research on Champix, its dosages and Champix side effects. I am also want to tell you How champix works:- Champix assist you in breaking away the habit of smoking. Champix is atypical as compared to other existing nicotine replacement therapies and smoking cessation drugs.
Champix is the first non nicotine drug manufactured by pfizer. Lot of people feel happy and satisfied by taking Champix. But I think Champix should take only doctors prescription.
As far as concerned about Champix side effecfs:-
Champix can be the cause of nausea and headache. Champix side effects can be mild, temporary or permanent, depends on your body type. Please do not take Champix in pregnancy and breast feeding.
Call me a critical old tw** (you wouldn't be the first!) but: friend Steve, (absolutely no relation!) if you are a researcher then perhaps you could provide some scientific information in a format which will convince me (and others perhaps) that you know what you're talking about! (Note to self: Too many brackets..)
Right now, all I can see is a very amateur attempt at getting folk to buy Champix online without a prescription.
100% of 32% of most smokers who have tried to quit (baring the occasional NY Res) have (almost always) tried 48% of recognised methods (recognised by 92% of qualified (medical) practitioners) except where 22% of the remainder were listed in 19.5% of (medical) journals written by under 10 year olds - a minority, reported to be >0.001% disregarding the insignificant variation of the mean where it exceeds .4.
There, now that's what I call scientificitated. You know it makes sense.

God I'm bored today...
oh yes, it makes perfect sense to me. although i disagree with the under 10 year olds. my calulations reveal that they were definately under 10 months. Please recalculate ste . dont hesitate to ask for my equasions > fractal imput also molecular state of the quantum math. xxx
