I am a 20 yr. survivor after multiple treatments for nhl follicular B cell & after 3 yrs. of lil bit of remission I have lots of new disease and 2 suggested possible treatments, one oncologist suggested obinutuzumab & another oncologist wants to discuss CAR T-cell therapy ......has anyone on this site had either one of these treatments? I'm especially curious about the CAR T-cell therapy as I hear it can possibly result in permanent remission. Please share any info or experience you've has with these treatment courses.

CAR T-cell therapy
I’m sorry to hear that you have lots of new disease. I was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma in June 20 and out on watch and wait. Within 3 months the disease transformed into aggressive large B cell. I had RCHOP as my first chemo and that didn’t work for me so they immediately put me on RGDP and that didn’t work either. My Lymphoma transformed from very slow growing to very aggressive and the lump I had in my chest grew to 10.5 cms. I managed to get accepted for CAR-T Cell (I was 56) and I had my infusion in March last year. My first scan after that in April showed that the cancer had completely gone. I remain in remission and am convinced that CAR-T saved my life. The side effects are not pleasant after the infusion but worth it if you can become cancer free. I hope that whatever is recommended as the next treatment works well for you.
