67yr. old , 20 yrs into NHL follicular bcell with many yrs of treatments & lots of Rituxin....
as a result I am not producing Bcell antibodies & did not produce a spike to my 2 doses of Moderna administered last Feb.
I'm very interested in a 3rd dose either J&J or Pfizer to see if I get an antibody result.....my oncologist is very conservative & tells me to wait for CDC recommendation & continue following their safety guidelines.
Other countries are already administering 3rd dose to immunocompromised ....
My friend who had a transplant 6 yrs. ago walked into a pharmacy in Arizona & got a 3rd dose....
I asked at my local Walgreens here in Chicago area & pharmacist said they're not doing 3rd dose yet & I hate to lie & say its my 1st dose...
Looking for recommendations as I'm wanting to travel & get on with life like everyone.
Thanks for your input

I feel just as you do. 3 years into FL and very eager to have that third shot but don't know how to get it... I don't know if it makes sense to get it by telling someone at Walgreens (or wherever) that it's your first shot... I wish so much this country would start administering 3rd doses to the immunocompromised. 20 years into FL did my heart good to hear. I'm 70 now... Take care. Wishing you continued good health...
Please see the following article about getting a third dose. The two blood cancer doctors advised waiting. I hope this helps. I myself am not getting the vaccine at this time because of the safety risks associated with these experimental vaccines. Good luck and good health!patientpower.info/as-a-canc...
Thank you so much for your reply....I attended the webinar of the ACIP on July 22...it was open to the public.....many people in my predicament called in & stated the need (some pleading to the committee) for a 3rd dose . The CDC won't budge w/o FDA approval...& we all know how long that can take...had it not been for massive pressure from the government I don't believe we'd have gotten approval for our 1st round & our country was behind many others...I'd be happy to participate in a clinical trial.....I'm gonna start looking for that.👍
