Hello, I hope somebody can help me. My partner has been taking Ibrutinib for the past two years and today his consultant told him the devastating news that it does not appear to be working anymore and that he will have to have chemo again. He's absolutely crushed. Please, can anybody tell me if this has happened to you or anybody you know and what was suggested by your doctor? My partner was first diagnosed with Mantel Cell Lymphoma about 5 years ago and has had stem cell treatment, using his own stem cells. Since his first diagnosis, there must have been some advancements in treatment. I would appreciate any help or advice from anybody.

I have heard good things about the CarT clinical trials for FHL. Don't know if it would work with the Mantel Cell, but it's maybe worth mentioning
The answer can be CAR T Cell treatment. But it is still sooo expensive. Another line is the bone marrow transplant with sibling's cells.
I hope, he managed to find proper option. There is currently trials for mantle cell patients who failed to response to Ibrutinib (NIH/NCI Lymth team). The another option is CAR-T (approved also) but is much more complicated. I am not aware of any other option. Dr. Michael Wang, MDAderson Cancer Center is the most experienced in the US specialist in Mantel Cell diagnostic and treatment. Regarding CAR-T treatment I am not sure that is the best place to perform,. Very best, M
