I wonder if anyone out there is also doing this. I am taking supplements and following it as closely as possible. I have just started a short time ago and am noticing a complete reduction in night sweats which have continued even though I am on maintenance now. Hopefully this is as a result of the diet. Please comment, thanks!

Stage 4 Follicular Non Hodgkins on Keto Diet
I was on the Specific carbohydrate diet years ago, might be similar, but I had great results with it in many ways. I should go back on it.
I went on the ketogenic diet for about a year. I felt very well on it . However - and maybe because I am already very slim and light - it sent my cholesterol sky high. The keto experts say that some people are
'hyper responders ' and develop this problem . When I say sky high I mean extremely high. So I have had to adjust my diet to add in oats and oat bran and remove dairy and meat fat to get it down and stop the alarm bells ringing. I'm due a blood test next week so hoping all is in order.
I would recommend you read " Life Without Bread" by Dr. Wolfgang Lutz who was an early proponent of low carb and a medical doctor.
My personal take is that in most cases benefits to overall health can be had by not going to the extremes of being in ketosis and that some of the approaches found to work for type 2 diabetes may be beneficial for all of us in becoming our healthy best.
But do watch your cholesterol, especially if your weight normalises.
This is very interesting. What was youe blood pressure like generally on this diet? I have been taking niacin intermittently which acts to reduce cholesterol.
I think that my night sweats on maintenance were from a chemo induced menopause. However I did change my diet and have also included lots of supplements (plus an immune modulator) which I continue to take 6 years on from chemo. My oncologist seems happy enough with what I'm doing. I have tried to go mostly organic and also put in a cold water tap filter. I try to avoid wheat as much as possible. Away from the home things get a little bit more difficult so I'm not perfect.
My night sweats and itching have stopped since I have been doing the Keto diet so I am encouraged that I am on the right track.
I was diagnosed with B Mantle Cell Lymphoma July 2015 and underwent RCHOP and stem cell Dec 2015. I have been in remission. On my August 2018 visit to the oncologist he advised that the odds are that the lymphoma would return. I have been reading books like a mad man in hopes of keeping lymphoma at bay. I have read a number of books on autoimmune disorders as my daughter has an undiagnosed disorder that has been greatly helped by going on a gluten free and dairy free diet. I started a dairy free and gluten free diet to help eliminate inflammation in August 2018 and in two months have gone from 189 to 171 pounds, blood pressure down 22 points, cholesterol from 191 to 167, HDL from 41 to 62 and LDL from 125 to 92. I used to wake up in the morning and would experience joint stiffness like I was 104 years old and I now wake up without any joint pain. One month ago I started reading about the Keto diet and was about to give it a try. In one of the reviews of a book on the Keto diet the person said that the high fat diet will kill you and to read the book "The China Study" by T.Colin Campbell, PhD. The book is about the most comprehensive study of nutrition ever conducted. The book advises going on a whole food plant based diet for all health problems. The reviewer also advised reading, "How Not To Die" by Michael Greger, MD. The book is about the foods scientifically proven to prevent and reverse disease. This is also about going on a whole food, plant based diet. The author advises eliminating all dairy, eggs, red meat, chicken, fish. He also has a web site nutritionfacts.org . I highly recommend that you get the books from the library and check out the site. The concepts are simple but not easy. Plus there is no need for a number of supplements. The only supplements you need are vitamin D3 if you are not getting enough sunlight and Vitamin B12 if you are on a vegan diet. Good luck and good health! I will let you know in 30 years how I make out!
Hey box392, my mother has stage 4 follicular lymphoma as well. She is trying to avoid the heavy medical treatments and is considering switching from juicing (which seems to have had encouraging results) to a keto diet due to her low weight. Can I ask how your experience has been on the diet? Thanks!
Yes I have been diagnosed a year ago with this. I have tried many approaches and different diets, none medical yet. Now I'm doing dca and keto. Its really to help reduce my blood sugar spikes and typically early morning slightlier higher blood sugar (discovered from dna test). Also my testosterone is really low and tendency for higher cortisol so keto can help improve all.
I'm taking extra specifc pancreatic enzymes which really help with energy, and intermittent niacin to help with sleep, or or excess blood pressure.
It does seem that my neck lumps bulk has reduced a little but its not really enoug to get excited yet. Keep us updated how it goes.
