Have been on watch and wait for a long time. No cancer back, but now have been diagnosed with an immune deficiency which has been making me unwell also for a long time. IVIG has been suggested by immunologist, but I am not convinced this is the best decision as it is a life long commitment. Anyone have a similar experience?

immune deficiency
Not for me but would suggest you get a second opinion since you don’t feel comfortable with this.
Hi, I had a one off infusion and had a reaction whilst having it. Now I take Immunovite beta glucans 1-3,1-6 to help my immune system and they seem to be working for me.
My wife's oncologist told us that he does not even do an immunoglobulin lab test unless a patient has a significant number of repeated infections. Like jmcobb50, I suggest you get a second opinion. Note that the half-life of an IVIG infusion is about 21 days.
It's always worth getting your Vitamin D levels tested as that hormone has such an effect on the immune system and poorer outcomes in lymphoma have been associated with Vitamin D insufficiency in a number of studies. There was concern in the past that lymphoma patients might be at higher risk for hypercalcemia but your doctor would confirm whether supplementation is appropriate if it turns out you are deficient. All the best, whatever you decide to do.
