Hi all, just a quick update. Had our third visit to the Haematologist today as a follow up to Allan's CT scan three weeks ago. The doctor was able to confirm that it is low grade marginal zone Splenic NHL and the good news is that the blood work showed no change from a month ago and the CT scan showed only a minimal enlargement of the spleen which was backed up by a quick physical exam whilst we were at the clinic. At the moment no B symptoms although last night Allan did have a night sweat which was significant but hopefully an isolated incident as he hasn't had one for a few weeks now. Some fatigue at the moment but nothing terrible and he is still able to do most things without worrying (he is out mowing our sizeable lawn as I write this post :-). The Haematologist did tell us that treatment may be some time away and the most likely first line treatment would be Rituximab. Back to watch and wait now until our next clinic appointment in three months time. We came home feeling more positive than we have since we first started this journey a few short months ago. We will continue to keep in touch and wish everyone in the community all the very best for their own journeys with this disease.
Regards
Mary

Thank you for the update, Mary. It's always good to hear of someone who is remaining stable on watch and wait, which removes some of the anxiety and gives us a chance to build our strength. Good wishes and good health to you and Allan.
Will do that Petrina and sending best wishes back! It is always good to be able to post something positive and to receive encouragement whatever circumstances this disease throws at us.
We certainly thought so and it has given Allan a much needed morale boost as he was quite down leading up to our appointment. Thankyou for your words of encouragement.
Great news Mary I am on the same boat as Allan I saw my hematologist this week and I was put in a 3 months watch and wait so cheers to us! I hope we have a long watch and wait
