Did anyone have anaphyletic side effects. Very apprehensive about taking any new drug because of prior treatment with Rituxan. Did this drug help reduce the cancer in you?

I also had an initial anaphylactic reaction to my very first Rituxin infusion, but after having the infusion stopped and then started up very slowly, I was able to tolerate it for 14 more infusions at rapid rate with no issues. Try to remember that your nurses, PAs, docs will carefully monitor your drug tolerance and reaction and will adjust accordingly. I wish you well👍

Thank you for your reply. I also had Rituxan infusion given after pretreat and given very slow. The second infusion caused adverse reactions also. The doctor stated that allergic reactions are rare, but he said I am truly allergic to Rituxan.

I am apprehensive about trying a new drug.

I have been on Imbruvica for nearly 3 months. The 26mm lump in my groin lymph node has vertically disappeared. As of today my specialist has stopped me taking the Imbruvica because my Liver blood result is going up. I also stopped my Clorestral tablet and will go and see him in three weeks. He said they will most likely start the drug again but reduce the amount I take which is currently 4 tablets a day. Hope this helps.

Also had minor side effects like rash on my chest and back that lasted two weeks. Nothing major and have no side effects now. The lump in my groin was still there but I guess it was dormant after I had had a bone marrow transplant using my brothers cells. The transplant lasted 20 months before it came back and I was then put on Imbruvica.

Prior to each treatment of Rituxin my nurse gives me double doses of Benadryl and Tylenol. It helps, but sometimes I've still had minor reactions, nothing too serious. Nurse said reactions are common with Rituxin.
