Hi BillieJean7,
Try Mindfulness. It has been proven to work....
My wife who has follicular lymphoma has never experienced pain. These four sites have a lot of good follicular lymphoma information:
lymphoma.org
lls.org/
lymphomation.org
Hi BillieJean.....Why are you in pain? Doesn't really matter why....There are methods in this world for all kinds of problems we humans have....why these sometimes miraculous results are not loud on the daily news I cannot say. Read Norman Doidges books....amazinig....The Anat Baniel method of NeuroMovement might be just what you need....Anat has two books out and a web site that will most likely spark your interest. There is so much we are learning about the brain....and I believe you could find answers in these books and no doubt in many other books...."My Stroke of Insight" by Jill Bolte Taylor....another fascinating book.
I wish you a clear path to healing BillieJean
Sincerely,
Sarah
I am not quite sure why you are experiencing pain. I too am in remission with Follicular lymphoma and did not experience any pain after finishing treatment with either episode. Perhaps your pain has another cause that has not yet been explored.
Might I suggest that you explore why this is happening with medical professionals that may be able to get to the crux of your pain issues. It could be physical, psychological, emotional and/or completely unrelated to your having cancer. I think you owe it to yourself to dig deeper to resolve this issue.
I have completed cycle and remission no pains form lymphoma but pain from arthritis. You need to checkout with the doctors what is causing the pain
BillieJean, I am so sorry to hear that you have chronic pain. I'm currently in remission from marginal zone lymphoma. I also struggle with chronic pain. At the end of March, I begin 4 acupuncture treatments. I will post how effective they are for me. Have you looked in to that?
Hi Billiejean7, Welcome to NHL Friends. Most of the follicular lymphoma patients here are not experiencing pain directly from the lymphoma. When I had the original node/ lump in my neck, I did have spasms when it would contract slightly but they didn't last long.
Have you had treatment for the lymphoma or are you on watch and wait ( no treatment required yet)? If you have already had treatment could it be a side effect of that? Your doctor should be able to get to the bottom of it, whatever the cause.
I also had follicular Lymphoma , but in remission now .
I have had pain , but only after surgery .
Chemo would not allow my healing !
All healed and rejoicing!
Pain comes and goes for me. It's like the pain I had during chemo. The nerve damage it does come back to haunt me. When it does ....I slow down a little but, keep moving. Don't stop moving . :You could speak to all your doctors your Primary your Oncologist and see what they recommend. You may have to be insistent in getting their attention , I am sorry you are having to go through this.
Hi Billy Jean, I have foliclarify NHL and am experiencing pain especially in my hips and legs. Tylenol doesn't do much to relieve it. Doctores weren't much help. I thought might might be related to muscular issues related to the chemo and being unable to do much for a year or do. I've hired a fitness trainer to start me back at square one with getting my muscles back into shape. It's been a few weeks, and although it's been challenging, I'm finding I do have a bit less pain and a bit more strength and mobility. Taking yoga, but being careful not to over stretch (that's a bugger). I'm not sure if this is your issue, but thought I'd share.
I used fish oil. Works like magic.
I have been in remission from Follicular lymphoma for twelve years now. I have never at any time suffered pain from the lymphoma, not even during chemo. I wonder if you have Fibromyalgia. Stress from your diagnosis could bring it about.
I have nhl since 1994, am stage 3, have had many chemotherapy and d not remember specific pain, mostly fatigue. There are many suggestions from others that should work, but I think you should discuss this with your oncologist. Hope ydou have release ef soon!
Hi , I am on my 3rd maintenance treatment, 9 to go. Since having my chemo and during it I suffered severe pain in all my joints. Dermatologist couldn't explain why, my go eventually after various tests and bloodwork diagnosed fibromyalgia, brought in by the chemo , didn't know how long it will last, on a cocktail of pain meds but not really helping, try to keep as active as I can but really struggle, going to see rheumatologist in couple weeks , see what they say, wish you well and hope you get to the bottom of what is causing your pain xx
