Hello everyone ! My name is Michelle and my son Maksim is my little kidney warrior. Maksim is 5, will be 6 in October. He was diagnosed at 2 with a Wilms Tumor, he went thru chemotherapy. About a year later he was diagnosed with Denys-Drash syndrome and was started on peritoneal dialysis. He was on PD for about 2 years and received his transplant from a living donor last October. He is 11 months post transplant and I am grateful to God to be able to say is doing great. He just started Kindergarten and is doing well. I would love to meet everyone and be able to help as much as possible .

I am so happy your son is doing great! My daughter had Wilm's Tumor at 13 months (she is 18 now). I remember reading a lot about Denys-Drash Syndrome back then as they looked at that as a possible cause of her Wilm's but it wasn't. My daughter ended up with a kidney transplant at 11 due to kidney disease unrelated to the Wilm's, but she is doing great now! I hope your son has a great kindergarten year!
