I know a young man in my community who received a kidney transplant a few years ago. I have heard thru mutual friends that he has been diagnosed with covid and in the hospital not doing too well. Anyway, this brings me to think about treatments...are transplant patients able to get the antibody infusions if we get covid-19?

Antibody infusions?
My clinic told me if I test positive for COVID to call them right away so they can start me on monoclonal antibodies.
My team also advised me to be test if any doubt so as to start the monoclonal antibody treatment asap. It works best if started in the early phase of COVID.
Speaking from direct experience, I received monoclonal antibodies the day after positive test came back so yes.
Not that I recall except fatigue and chills but I also had those from being sick. I got very sick even with the monoclonal antibodies so please be so careful.
Howdy...1. A few weeks back my wife was in quarantine due to COVID-like symptoms. She needed a negative COVID test to return to work as a special education teacher. I reached out to the transplant clinic the following morning and they said that if she tested positive they would give me the monoclonal antibodies ASAP. They actually never said that I needed to test positive. I just assume that was also a requirement. Thankfully, it was just a "bug" that passed within 12-18 hours.
2. I tell ya, it is scary being immunosuppresed in the age of COVID. What are my wife and I supposed to do if we become ill with COVID? I've received 3 doses of Moderna but my transplant nephrologist says, "it may not be enough."
I'm just curious are you a transplant patient
My center has never talked to me about this at all. I wonder what they will tell me to do.
