Does anyone here experience cramps near the transplanted kidney from time to time does it have anything to do with anxiety or stress?

According to my nephrologist the transplant kidney is tucked securely. If you are dealing with cramps please discuss with the transplant team or your Doctor.

If it keeps on bothering you, make sure you keep telling your transplant team. I was having what I called "nerve pain" in that area of my new kidney. It wound up being a hernia in my transplant incision.

How long since your transplant? There are also a lot of nerves in that area that have to calm down that first year.

No they looked to see if I had a hernia but didn’t find one it’s been 5 years

Ya, they looked at me and said they didn't find one either. If it continues to hurt you need to keep "bugging" them.

I actually had the surgeon look at the disc of the CT. Guess what...there it was. All of the radiologist reports said it was negative for a hernia. My hernia showed up when I was 13 years post transplant.

Remember to be your own advocate. You know when something is wrong.

I have a cramp in my upper abdomen from time to time that I never had before my transplant but it is very inconsistent. Be your own advocate and if it doesn't feel right don't let it go.

Dear foreverthankful26 (aren't we all),

When you say 'Cramping' could it be more 'Tingling'? If so then can I suggest a Possibility? When the new Kidney, is Transplanted, certain Nerves are cut. This can, and dose, lead to some Strange sensations- you can take, my Word, for that! I think I'd still make an Appointment, with your own Transplant Team though, just to be 'Safe'.

All that said I wouldn't 'worry', too much, foreverthankful26- just get this 'Checked Out' as soon as you can.

Can you let us know, what your told, please? Best wishes, from us all
