Hello... My husband had transplant exactly 3 years ago, never had any problems or major side effects, no recent change in medicine, but since past 3 days he noticed skme rashes, yesterday he had some on his lower back and today he noticed more on upper thigh. Please share if anyone ever experienced it, or have knowledge about it.
Appearing rashes: Hello... My husband had... - Kidney Transplant
Appearing rashes
I guess he could be developing an allergy. Make sure you tell his transplant team about the rash.
Have you changed your laundry detergent lately? Any different foods eaten lately.
The important thing is to tell your transplant center. Never know what it could be?
looks like allergy.... just in case, check the symptoms of shingles in net
Dear Arih,
If he is still, very clearly, 'Well' in himself...I wouldn't Worry too much. It could be 'anything'...but DO check, that it's not Shingles, or another Disease...or a sign of Rejection.
Frankly, if he is still 'Healthy', that's unlikely though.
Have you Changed 'anything' that you Normally use...Washing Powder, Conditioner, Shampoo, Shower Gel, Hair Gel, Floor/ Loo Cleaner..not forgetting Toothpaste and Air Freshener/ Polish or Disinfectant (wipes). (Even Breakfast Cereal, the Coffee/ Tea, Bathroom Soap- that 'New One' that Aunt 'Matilda' gave you?) Maybe even the Family Pet...(oh 'Shoot' the cat!).
I'm sure that he is 'Fine' Arih please try, not to, worry- but do get that appointment.
Can you let us 'know' please? Since it's nearly December....
Merry Christmas to you, and your Family.

I am nine months post transplant and was having vomiting episodes monthly. I ran a food sensitivity test and was shocked to find these foods that I was sensitive to which are asparagus, egg whites, ginger, garlic, crab, chicken, and pineapple. Since eliminating these foods from my diet I no longer have been having any vomiting episodes. I also have eliminated foods that are high in oxalates as I don’t want to deal with a kidney stone or a gallstone. As for your rash, you should notify the doctor or transplant team as I am sure they can figure this out through blood tests. Think back to any changes you may have done recently which might have brought on the rash. Has he been outdoors more than usual? Has he been around plants? Children? Hope you find the answers for the rash.

Hi everyone. Thank you for taking out time to reply. So he sent pics to Nephrologist and he said it's Shingles, and prescribed him a medicine and ask him to stop using cellcept for a couple of days. We don't have pets, as his transplant team suggested that he can never live with pets in the house, after the transplant. We didn't change anything either. Thank you again
Didn't the transplant team require him to have the shingles vacine pre-transplant?
I had to get the shingles & pneumonia vaccines & a tetanus shot before they would approve me for transplant.
They are all live vaccines & you can't get them post transplant. I can't remember if it's forever, or you have to wait a bunch of years after transplant before you can get them again.
I also wasn't allowed to get the flu shot the 1st year post transplant. Now they want me to get it every year.
I hope this helps for any further issues that may happen down the road.
Take care!
