Hi I am mister davies new to the site and new to kidney failure lots to take and lots to learn second week of being on the machine sorry can't spell dialisis hope some people out there in the same boat as me come and have a chat and make a new ffiend talk soon

You might want to check to see if your community has a kidney support group. I am CKD 4 (eGFR of 27-29). I belong to the Richmond, VA support group. Most of the members are either on dialysis or have had a transplant. Each meeting features a presentation by an expert nephrologist, renal dietician, etc. I belong to keep ahead of the knowledge curve. I lost one kidney to cancer. I've been cancer free for 12 months, but if I lose the other kidney, I'll have no choice but to start dialysis. At age 78, I probably won't seek a transplant.
