Signs of rejection for recipients

I'm getting very frightened and nervous that my husband who I donated the kidney to is starting to reject. Has any donors known if this has happened to their recipients? Was done is December 2020 numbers were phenomenal along with creatinine GFR. Now, the last few months have been on a steady decline but no signs of what is notated for physical signs of rejection. They are considering doing an ultrasound and possibly a biopsy. I'm looking to see if anyone had any similar stories and what the outcome was.

Sending you virtual hugs and positive energy your way. Yes my Bestie has 2 scares, one was just a simple fix with her meds. The second time she was in the actual hospital and didn't tell me cause she knew I would freak out and I was already stressed. To this day it was a weird occurrence because she didn't have to go to the hospital until I stopped eating and sleeping for 3 days cause Hurricane Michael destroyed my hometown and I didn't know if my family was alive yet.

Yes! I donated to my Dad.... he had SEVERAL bouts of rejection....each time was treated after either an ultrasound, biopsy or both. It's NORMAL!!! Rejection does NOT mean FAILURE. Work closely with the transplant team, and continue to stay on top of lab work and numbers as you're doing!!

Wishing you both positive results with any treatment required!

thank you very much! Just so hard to understand why it would happen after 7 months. I'm praying will all be well with a good outcome.

it can happen at ANY time....and likely to happen again. Just DON'T panic (I know, much easier said than done - I have been in your shoes for sure)!!!

Donated to my son - initially went very well, then it appeared to be rejected. Scan and biopsy showed nothing, but it did trigger a change in his drugs, Remember that it is a balancing act between the drugs. The aim is too have just as much as needed, it may be that they need to be increased. Good luck - my thoughts are with you.
