I had my fistula surgery this past Tuesday. I will say the surgery went well. The fistula is sore and healing. It will take six to eight for it heal and mature. I finally had it long time for it to happen. The next step is transplant list at the Mayo clinic this Tuesday .I hope after this I will be on the transplant list. I let all know when I'm listed. I will say to everyone stay positive and focused. Lol take stay tuned the best is yet to come.

Curious, why did you decide to work with Mayo? I was going to start with them, but I saw some statistics that didn't look as good as other places (like, UW-Madison). Look at this site: srtr.org/ Strangely enough, my brother donated a kidney some 25 yrs ago, at Mayo. That was long before I knew I was going to need one.

Good for you to get the fistula in place. They heal pretty fast. Have you decided if you are doing in center or home hemodialysis?

If you I have a living donor it's a good choice. Their STATS now are 80% of their transplants are from living donors which is great. Blessings
