I saw and read the article earlier. I'm sure there will be more on this story but the outcome will be that they are concerned with the viability of the kidneys and the likelihood of a successful transplantation. Still, that is a large number of kidneys to go unused.

Interesting story. I wonder how our kidney transplant survival rates as well as longevity of donated deceased kidneys data compares with that from other countries that transplant a higher percentage of all donated kidneys.
