Hi all. My name is John and I am a stage 4 ckd patient. Been stable for a few years. Thank God. I am writing this as basically food for thought and informational. Never have dad a problem with any of the 3 Ps. My last bloodwork showed a DRASTIC increase in potassium levels. Asked my Dr. if this possibly can be a mistake and he said yes mentioning several things that can happen with the blood draw. Sure enough, retested and numbers were normal. Bottom line. Always ask questions at doctors appointments. God bless us all. John.

yes I have too a story to share. I got the call at dinner time from the on-call doctor after a lab draw I did in the morning. He said my potassium was dangerously high and to go to emergency. We did. My level according to this lab was 6.3. I was so scared that my BP was through the roof. They did an EKG and said nothing. They put me in a room. And we waited. They came and did an IV line and took blood. And we waited. About three hours later, the attending came down and said he was going to admit me for overnight. He goes to look at my chart and the labs they drew were back in. My potassium was 4.7. We left after five hours of listening to people scream in the emergency room. What a pleasant evening. Always question.
