eGFR of 33 though only one viable kidney now

a year ago my wife's egfr was >60 she's on lot of drugs for other things. Now it's getting lower. Does CKD affect how long drugs are circulating in the body because the kidney function is low and not removing the drugs as normal?

Certainly and that needs to be a huge consideration at the time they are prescribed and at the time they are filled. You must have a convo with both her doctors and your pharmacist. Best of luck!

GFR refers to the rate of filtration workings of the kidney. The lower the number, the lower the function. So yes, meds and other things can get toxic. And then that can affect the kidneys and keep lowering the GFR. You will want a renal review of all her drugs. And if the doctor won't take her med list to your local pharmacist to review with you.

Thank you for your reply, I'll get onto the doctor and pharmacy to see what can be done.

I had to change my multivitamin/mineral formula to just multivitamins. All kinds of things to be aware of.

I believe it to be true. I take one low dose Hydrocodone each morning around 6 am for arthritis and no more during the day. The bottle says to take every 6 hours as needed for pain. I assume that after 6 hours, the effect should wear off. In my case, it feels like the drug is still kicking late into the afternoon.
