Medical Alert ID Bracelets

Hi Kidney Disease and Transplant Community,

Someone had posted about medical ID bracelets recently. I had gotten several over the years and find that the best one for me was from James Avery. It’s sterling silver and can be sized. I’ve found that they’ve lasted longer than the stainless, plated or rubber and silicone ones. I also have eczema and lots of materials can irritate my sensitive skin.

No advertisements and kickbacks. Just my opinion and personal experience if you’re looking for a medical bracelet. It’s pricey, but I travel a lot for work and need something durable and fashionable.

Have a great day!

Thank you for sharing this. I am new to this forum; I was transplanted 10 months ago, and have been looking for a Medical Alert Bracelet, and the first post I come across is yours! I'll be ordering one this weekend!😀

This is really good to know and I wonder if there is anyone with information about these being available in the UK as I see these are only in the US. I need one to alert medical staff not to use my once fistula arm for BP, bloods and canula's

Hi, I ordered from Lauren’s Hope (US brand but ships to the UK) and they have some beautiful options and styles if you’re looking for something a little unique or a particular finish..laurenshope.com

I got one from Amazon and keep forgetting to wear it. Now it is missing. I'm aware enough to tell medical staff what to do - I have a fistula, but haven't started dialysis yet - for blood draws and blood pressure. I got it because I keep getting very low blood glucose at the YMCA and am afraid I will pass out.

Ordered a bracelet off Amazon that I could have printed with the information. I had expected that EMTs could access my information on my phone or on a flash drive but now I’ve heard it’s not allowed. Somehow it’s a violation of your privacy. Mine as some info on it like allergies and then it says medical history in upper glovebox. I have a long list of diagnosis so they’re listed along with meds. Contact information and will soon have a copy of my living will. I’m hoping that this will work since the bracelet tells them where to find the information.
