Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum. Little background: I'm 30 y/o and was diagnosed 2 years ago with CKD. I've progressed towards Stage 4, I'm actively listed on the UNOS network. The reason I'm here is I need some recommendations from the community on any therapists/counselors who have experience with CKD? I've been putting this off for a while now and I feel like I need to talk to someone to deal with my feelings and I believe a therapist/counselor with experience dealing with CKD will be able to help the most. If anyone has any recommendations, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi there shpar! Welcome to the community! I completely understand how you’re feeling. I’m pretty sure everyone here can, also. I’m stage 4 as well, and sometimes, I get very down about this whole thing too. I took the liberty of looking up counselling services for people with CKD, and found this link that I’ve attached below, from DaVita, that offers a few suggestions on how to connect with a counsellor in your community. I hope you find this helpful.
Do take good care of yourself and remember, we’re also always here for you as well, to offer our support and share our experiences with you. I think you’ll find, as I have, that we are all pretty much in the same boat as one another, and in that, we can lend some strength and encouragement to each other. I look forward to reading more of your posts. I wish you all my best! Once again, welcome to the forum! 😊👍✌️🙏🍀
I would've never thought I'd be one to turn to a psychologist. But I did and it helped me get through the shock.
