I saw a big improvement in nausea by ending my mistake of taking a potassium supplement. First time that one potassium-laden pill in my multivitamin did this to me.
Only question now is whether any further damage as occurred. Stage 4, EFGR 25.

Hi there, Bbbbmmjh. Yeah, I know what you mean. Pretty sure everybody here can identify with that. When kidneys begin to weaken, multivitamins and extra supplements are not always friendly with us. It’s like having to relearn a new normal. What was once good and healthy for us, is now, not so much anymore. An overload of potassium in my blood, (not from supplements, just from my regular diet at the time) had caused me to actually pass out a few times when I was stage 4. I thought I was dying! Lol! But then I realized that this was no joke. My kidneys were playing hardball with me, and so I had to alter my then, regular diet and exercise routines. Taking vitamins is something that should be advised by a doctor who has first viewed results of your bloodwork now, and should only be taken in the dosage they prescribe and for as long as they say it should be taken. In actuality, this is also true even for those without CKD. Supplements can cause many issues for anyone, even those in perfect health, when there is not a need for them. I’m glad to hear that you’re feeling better. All the best to you, and God bless! 👍
What is your potassium level now that you stopped taking the supplement? High potassium can effect your heart, even causing it to stop. Potassium above 5.5 can cause palpitations and even cardiac arrest.
