I have read some online research papers about the potential for kidney damage from certain toxins in hair dyes. Has anyone experienced this? Did your numbers improve after getting away from the hair dying? Thanks in advance for any insight/experience.

Hair Dye and Kidney disease
HI MP11,
This was an interesting question which I had to look. I found one article that was about hair coloring poisoning. Yup, drinking hair dye.... and if you are that stupid to drink hair dye... well, for dessert, have a Tide pod. There was another article about the possibility of there being a connection, but it was very inconclusive and the concern was for the only the very dark coloring that may contain lead.
Here is another article "The underlying mechanism of the nephrotoxicity of hair dyes has
not been fully illustrated. Therefore, long-term topical application of hair dyes can induce
renal interstitial fibrosis, people should be aware of the usage of hair dyes and doctors could query the history of hair dyes usage in patients of chronic kidney disease".
Whilst I was on dialysis I dyed my hair and my bloods never changed. I even asked my consultant if it would be okay. He did some research and told me in the medical journals there is absolutely nothing to show hair dye causes any ill effects. After my transplant I also dyed my hair and again no change to my bloods. But if your not sure please follow your instincts. Xxx
Apparently if it is ingested intentionally & directly from the bottle: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl....
I was not planning on drinking the hair dye, as some folks apparently thought!!! Contrary to popular opinion, there is medical research available on line that dying your hair, NOT DRINKING IT, might cause damage to your kidneys. I was asking if anyone had experience with this, and NOT FOR WEB ARTICLES about suicide efforts from drinking hair dye.
For example:
Hi .interesting ..I dyed my hair 9 days ago and am currently in hospital with excessive swelling all over my body . ..they are saying I have kidney damage and ruling out the hair dye ..too much of a coincidence to me......did you get any further with your question ?
