Got Blood Results Back and a Little Worried

I am a 34 year old male that recently received general blood work results to establish new patient. In those results my Creatinine was 1.07mg which put my GFR at 90. This obviously scared me when I began looking online to see that the GFR was 90.

I found some old blood work from 4 years ago and luckily it had these test. At that time it showed 0.98mg Creatinine and a 103 GFR.

These were lab work taken in two different states so I don't know if that matters.

I do know for this latest round of test which I wasn't expecting I have not been drinking much fluids at all for like a week and a half prior. I had been super anxious and stressed about life changes.

In reality both test were done around stressful anxious life events.

I also have a urine strip at home that I did and it shows no protein.

I guess just posting this here to maybe get some feedback on if I should be concerned? Does dehydration affect the creatinine levels?

Yes , dehydration makes your kidneys work harder.

Hi there, your GFR is perfectly normal, in fact it’s good, please be reassured. In the UK anything over 60 with no sign of kidney damage is considered normal. And GFR does fluctuate for various reasons.

Hi Coco84.

Welcome to getting older. As we age, our kidneys slowly and minutely decline in function. Also not being hydrated will impact the readings, which you already know. It is normal and your labs results are excellent. Drink water before the next one and it will probably be back up.
