My original (mis)diagnosis was that I had two kidney stones. Two ultrasounds later they disappeared, without passing. My current doctor asked me to have a CT Scan without contrast. That showed no stones at all. Go figure. I had looked into low-oxalate foods and found that many of them were not on my meal plan for kidney-friendly meals. I have a couple of articles on that and I'm including them here for you to look at. Before you start or change anything check with your doctors to be sure you are heading down the correct path.

I was recently in the ER for what I thought were kidney stones since the pain was unbearable. However, the CAT scan (without contrast) showed no stones. I am new to all this, diagnosis and all, so trying to figure out what to eat and what not to is a tough one. Thank you for those articles. Much appreciated.

Hi,

In addition to the low-oxalate foods in the article above try going to davita.com and look at their recipes. They have so many and if you sign up for their information newsletter you'll be sent new additions from time to time to add to their list of kidney-friendly meals. There are other places that provide you with recipes but what I like about DaVita is that they list all of the ingredients and whether or not it is a recommended for those on or off dialysis and for those with diabetes.
