Hi My first time on here so let me tell you a little about myself , I suffer with Fibromyalgia and cluster Migraines for which I am on daily meds these do help but I still suffer with Migraines but only once or twice a week now .

The Fibro is painful and I get very frustrated as I am no longer able to enjoy walking even down to the shops and back these days , well I can get there but not back ! giggle

I live on my own and still hold down a full time job ,but to be honest ,I really think this is going to come to an end soon as my body is tired and my mind forgets ! another problem with Fibro!

If anyone is on here that has this problem then I would love to hear from them or with cluster Migraines or very cold feet ! thanks and enjoy your evening x

Hi painfullyours,

Glad to make your acquaintance and sorry you have such painful multiple health issues. I haven't had a full-on migraine for years now but my daughter has cluster migraines and although I have even less 'insider' information about fibromyalgia, as a non-sufferer, for years I have supported a good friend who does have this condition.

So I hope you don't mind my pitching in with my second-hand knowledge.

As far as the fibromyalgia is concerned, I know how difficult it is to carry on normally when you are having a 'flare'. Indeed, from my friend's experience she has days when she's just in too much in pain and too fatigued to even get out of bed for more than an hour or two.

But when she can, (and she has given up working), she remains active in as many things as she can, in order to stay as positive as you seem to be at the moment. She travels to see friends, but does so with her wheelchair, in her own car, or, if going to for short breaks overseas, always goes with a supportive friend to help her on bad days. She remains active in the community, supporting animal causes, has adopted an elderly dog from a shelter, and is involved as far as she can be in political issues, locally and nationally.

And I'm sure that's the key to fibromyalgia. Try to push through it as much as you can, but know when to give up and rest.

With regard to migraines, I know how debilitating they can be. My daughter has suffered them (they do run in our family) from her late teens and she's now nearly 50. She's had a, now, almost complete career as a police officer, but there have been times during it, when she is completely incapacitated. Her symptoms include numbness that runs through both arms during an attack as well as the usual suspects in the way of symptoms.

She's about to retire and is feeling she's just about had enough of balancing her headaches with her career, but the really sad thing is that she's retiring at about menopausal age, at which time migraine's known to often become less severe. That's life I guess! She's had numerous treatments and drugs, over the years, tried on the whim of the last 'expert' she's consulted, but nothing much has improved the status quo.

So I guess I'm saying do as much as you can to live a normal life with both complaints, but at the same time, always make allowances for your conditions and always be kind to yourself.

Best wishes.
