Real choice - choose and book?????

my understanding after searching my post code is that I can choose a number of hosptials including PRIVATE hospitals that came up under the search. the hospital I want to go to does take part and take nhs patents they have confirmed yet my gp hasn't included tehm on the list - interestingly? why is this and am I being denied a proper choice - how can I challenge this?

You could try asking your GP why he will not refer you to that hospital and show him a print out of the information which shows that he should. If he still will not then I would write to the health authority explaining your preference and asking them to confirm that you are entitled to be referred, then take the letter with you to the GP. If he still won't refer you then I would make a formal complaint to the health authority as the GP does not have the right to make decisions about your rights.
