Motor neuropathy in legs

hello everyone,

I have had Emg tests in my lower extremities and it has been determined that I have motor neuropathy. I’m reaching out to the community for fellow members who may be experiencing the same and your journey and treatments for this condition.

Do your doctors have an idea of the cause of your neuropathy? Seems like the first step. With this you may be able to halt the process and work on a recovery if there is not yet too much nerve damage. Often only pain management is thought of and EMG'sc is made, while urgency is required. I got the problems due to a serious vitamin B6 deficiency and at a later stage too high a B6 value, which is just as harmful. If your vitamin B levels have not yet been tested, do it immediately, with or without the cooperation of your doctor. 🍀

They cannot tell me how. It started the next morning after my second round of epidural steroid shots in L5/S1. At first they thought maybe spinal stenosis of L2/lL3 was an issue. I had surgery on that but it did not help my neuropathy. I have list the nerve to my inner right calf muscle. My B vitamins are all good. Thanks.

The connection with your epidural steroid injection seems very likely. There may have been a wrong manipulation, but your doctors won't soon admit that. Anyway, let's ask questions.

Hi Golfer, as Esperanto days it it is really important to try to find the root cause. My hubby had an MRI scan but no trapped nerves or anything that indicated cause. B12 injections didn't work either so the GP referred him to a neurologist who thought the peripheral neuropathy might be caused by Rheumatoid Vasculitis (hubby has Rheumatoid Arthritis) so referred him for a nerve biopsy. This confirmed that RV was the cause. He has had a couple of Rituximab infusions which have helped his RA but have done nothing for the RV. We have read loads of articles on neuropathy and watched medical sites on YouTube and despite all the ads for product a or product b to help I don't think there is a successful treatment. If there is I wish they would share it. Perhaps it is your epidural steroid injection that caused it. Good luck with finding an answer.
