Pain and Burning under feet
This could be a number of things, but one to watch is B12 deficiency. It creeps up slowly and should always be checked by a doctor before any supplementation.
You need to see a doctor and get some blood tests done. There are a number of conditions that can cause this. B12 defiency, type 2 diabetes also pre diabetes, Coeliac disease, and I'm sure there are other things as well. I have had this for about 6 years now. I think it was caused by pre diabetes. Unfortunately the drugs to help with the pain I could not tolerate.
Hello Karen: my version of this is due to the inflammatory processes of my autoimmune conditions causing progressive damage & debilitation to the nerves & blood vessels in my hands & feet - similar stuff happens to diabetics.
In my case the burning, redness & swelling is called secondary Erythromelalgia, & happens 24/7/12, simultaneous with the opposite sensations & manifestations due to my Raynaud’s.
Neurophysiology tests proved I have peripheral neuropathy of the lower legs & feet (sural axonal peripheral neuropathy) & severe Raynaud’s ischemia reperfusion injury. Rheumatology has me on both high dose scleroderma protocol daily long term sildenafil + losartan.
And my analgesics are amitriptyline for the neururopathy pain + paracetamol + diazepam for the muscle spasm, & the long term daily 10mg prednisolone I take for my autoimmune conditions also helps with all that
Hope something in that can be helpful. Wish8ng you good luck, Coco
