Hello Sammason57! Nice to meet you! Don’t be afraid my new friend because God is watching over you as for the test that you’re having to endure I know you’re afraid of needles. I used to be so terrified of them I still am, because I had to have many arterial blood gases and the last time I had one they gave me a student who did not know what they were doing and it was extremely torturous so I have a phobia of needles. too. what I do and what I’ve learned to do is I take three deep breath‘s close my eyes grit my teeth and not look at them putting the needle and if you don’t look at it it’s better close your eyes breathe think happy thoughts. Also the test you’re going for, that’s quite painful, I’m not sure if it’s more similar to one I had years ago when I was in a car accident knocked unconscious I was having seizures so they would send me to a neurologist where they use the machine that sent neurological shockwaves into the brain. It had to be done it was a test and I wanted to know what was going on with my brain. I would receive lots of shockwaves from this Neurological test that jolted me. As for your typing don’t even apologize I’m using my microphone on my phone and if you look at your texting this should be a little microphone if you have that option on your phone and you just hit the microphone button and you can talk to the microphone on your phone and your text that’s how I do mine I was up all night crying because both my hands we’re burning and cramping and numb and distorted and that’s my neuropathy and it is getting worse even though my blood sugar‘s are only 6.9. I don’t want you to feel afraid of what’s to come and remember it’s your body you have a right to say yes or no to what they do to your body. If it’s a test that’s supposed be painful maybe you could ask them for some kind of sedation or something that will calm your nerves! This is what I do because I can’t handle a lot pain. Numerous tests that I’ve been through and that’s how I’ve also gotten help as they’ve give me something to calm my nerves that might be something you can ask your neurologist about! A lot of these tests some find very unpleasant! Always know and discuss with your Doctor about full understanding of procedures and your comfort as a patient. I have spent days and nights with my hands burning and cramping all distorted my fingers, legs cramping and feet and burning like my body on fire. The neuropathy has also caused severe numbness no feeling dropping things, trying to eat etc. I actually have it all over I’m told but, I want to go back to a neurologist because I think I need to have another check up as my neuropathy is really bad and I don’t know why and it’s frustrating me but I keep praying to the Lord and is hoping for the best. I appreciate that you opened up to me and shared with me what you’re going through! I’m so sorry that you have to go through this we’re all going through these journeys on here very difficult ones and lots with pain and I pray everyone every day on here he is feeling less pain each Day instead of a lot of pain. I do have scoliosis and I do have a slipped disc in the lower lumbar on the right I also have a really bad hip I have severe ostio throughout my body as well as muscle atrophy from muscle disease, as well as the neuropathy and a lot of many other things but anyways the main focus of this conversation is the neuropathy and I welcome you to the group🤗🙏💪🏼🧸I don’t know how long you been with the group but it’s nice to come on here and have other people to talk to you and support you on your journey as were all on here for the same journey on this one course there’s no cures for us but that doesn’t mean that’s the end for us it just means that we got to stay more positive fight hard know that our bodies can only take when they can take it and know when to say no if you feel it’s not an appropriate procedure for your body or for what your pain tolerance is. However, there is options you can ask them to sedate you or even just give you something to calm your nerves before the procedure, as I am severely claustrophobic and I the last MRI I had I was put into an MRI tube and I come out of it crying so hard because of my back and I was in there about 45 minutes and very claustrophobic and how I got through that was because you’ll hear the noise and them talking to you through a microphone. You close your eyes breathe slow deep breath‘s and think of a song you really like in your head or you think of something really funny 😄 Think happy positive thoughts. This is what I do to get through my procedures and it’s OK to ask for help if you need something to calm the nerves or if you need sedation because of people who are very claustrophobic they do offer sedation when doing an MRI you have to ask your doctor to recommend this for you and put it on your hospital papers and they can do that for you and I know that they’ll be doing That for me for any future MRIs. Please don’t be afraid don’t be afraid to ask questions and I’m here for you as I am your friend is nice to have another friend and I have met some very kind people on here and I just stay away from toxic and negative people as they’ll bring you down and if you feel you’re getting very down all the time you could be suffering from depression because I’ve been suffering with my whole life and I’ve had nerve problems my whole life I had a few nervous breakdowns because of bad things that happen but I didn’t know that I had a severe nerve condition either or is that I had lupus or lymphedema or neuropathy all over my body and muscle disease and bone disease and a previous tumor that was the size of a walnut that wasn’t cancerous thank god! It did however after being shrunken to nothing, it left me with a chemical imbalance in the brain, along with my concussion syndrome. I take Pristiq which helps with the chemicals in the brain which also helps with the Nero- transmitter waves of the brain for somebody who has neuropathy so that would be for all of us so that’s something you could check into if you’re not already on something like that ask and never be afraid to ask questions and be very vigilant in your questions and then getting your answers that you need, as knowing more and understanding more about what you’re going through helps you get through it better than you would if you knew nothing. God bless you amen 🙏 Sammason57
