I have a degenerative scoliosis, aged 69 , my curvature had increase quite significantly in recent yr . Theorsic is now 62degree and lumbar is about 42 degree . both has increased by 7 degree in a yr .
Am wearing brace and was told to take up more exercise which i do . i hope to achive no further deteriration so to mitigate surgery.. Spine surgery is a major procedure and i am not sure whether the risk is too high for senior citizen and also the possibility to have complications. although the spine surgeon is very reassuring . ...
I have been reading thro many related articles and gotten more confused whether to proceed with surgery . i have narrow disc space and the fear of after surgery recovering processs and PAIN and worry that something could go wrong during surgery etc I am very stress out and confused . since i am not getting younger , and there is only a limited windown period for me to move on if I would decide on suegery. According to my understanding the degradation of spie can be fast especially if the culvatiure is more than 50 plus degree and mine is alrady at 62..
I am gratefule if someone can share the experience with me
