Query on Carbezamine for Trigeminal Neuralgia Pain Relief

Hi All,

I was hoping that someone may be able to advise on how long it would take to see any pain relief at all from TN. I am taking 200mg Carbezamine for last 11 days and nothing so far. Thank you

Hi you have my heartfelt sympathy, it is an awful thing to be stricken with. From my own experience I found that I had to slowly increase the dose until it gave relief. Obviously speak to your prescriber first but it was left to me to find the right dose that worked.

Thanks for your reply. I had to stop taking the Carbezamine on my third week due to severe side effects. I am seeking a referral to a pain management specialist but as I have to keep working, I can't takeany medication that will affect my thought process

hi i tried meds many years ago in my 4os it just made me drousy cant remember the name i had to start of with one tablet then build up gradually i started feeling a bit confused and going out in cold weather or drinking hot or cold wasnt hardly any better, so i quit meds and just have warm drink and food never hot or cold, im not too bad summer, but the cold air in winter often drove me to alcohol for a repreave on a night, i find keeping busy helps, im hoping not to drink at all this winter, i take co codomol now and then if im at my wits end, chamomile tea warm may help relax you or warm milk, mine goes into remisshion now n then i have sensitive teeth n gums too so ive had to stop eating the fruit soft gums i like too even the sucking brings it on, its such a weird condition, once mines triggered it lasts ages, i hope you find some relief and can avoid the cold air and keep warm this winter, i think pain management help will be good for you stay strong🤗🌟
