Twitching

Hello, I hope this finds you all as well as can be. I was wondering if anyone has extreme twitching with their limbs? It’s not so bad during the day, but at night it’s horrendous, I’ve woken myself up several times with it being so severe. Even my husband has been woken or even kicked by my limbs doing it. It’s not just my legs, it’s a full body twitch and to be honest I’m starting to worry about it and if it could be something else. I know that some people talk about restless legs, but as I’ve said mine is all over. I have a prolapsed disc and lumbar problems, so I wondered if this could be the cause. Thank you in advance for any replies. Stay safe and well as you can.

I too have prolapsed discs, problems at T12/L1, spondilo lysthesis and peripheral neuropathy. I do not get twitching. Restless legs can affect your whole body and can be caused by certain medications.. See your GP

I have PN as well as RA but the PN is the worse as the shaking in my hands are embarrassing resulting in difficulty eating-writing pressing phone numbers etc.

A few weeks ago I suffered a horrible flare of extreme pain in my left shoulder which due to RA was nothing new but it seemed to trigger horrendous shaking and twitching coming and going and I was sick with it I’m not on any drugs for the PN only for the RA. I have seen a neurologist for the PN. I have been told it’s the damaged nerves but this last episode has me worried like you. I hope you find answers for your condition and best of luck.

I have been dealing with similar issues lately. I have found that taking magnesium and potassium supplements have helped some. Make sure you are staying hydrated as well.

As you say, one step at a time and hopefully you’ll start to see some end to this. Yes, you do feel like that at times, but you’re not, you just have an active body when you don’t want it to be active. Hold in there, and hopefully you’ll see an improvement.
