We hear time and time again from our service users that, upon discovering they have a neurological problem, one of the things they found most comforting was reading first hand accounts from others who have been through what they’re going through.
Many people affected by neurological problems have shared their stories on our website. The articles often make for a great read and the conditions covered include SAH, ADEM, Chiari, and head injury.
If you would like to share your story with us, please contact James (Digital Communications Officer) at james.matejka@brainandspine.org.uk for more information.

I was wondering what the B & S Foundation think of the diagnosis of Functional Neurological Disorder and if you are able to offer any support to patients? The reason I ask is that there are many people being diagnosed with the condition and there is literally no help. People are given a website to read and pointed to a handful of specialists across the UK. Hundreds of people with a huge array of different symptoms are pretty much being left to fend for themselves. A few of us decided to contact the Brain and Spine and reach out for some extra support. Thank you for reading and we look forward to hearing from you. Mic
There seems to be stigma attatched to a diagnosis of FND. Not much support or treatment. The medical community have limited awareness of the condition. People with the condition don't have a voice.
