Hello all, I have my booking in appointment tomorrow morning, really looking forward to it! Do you definately get your scan date on your booking in apt? What sort of questions will they ask? What information will I get out of it?

Thank you!

For my booking in the midwife filled in my green pregnancy notes - which basically asks questions about your health, etc. she asked me where I wanted to 'book in' to have my baby and I was weighed. At this appointment they determine whether you will be classed as high or low risk and then go from there. I didn't get my scan appointment but she sent my details off and I received the appt in the post 3 days later. I think it all depends where you live though as to how they deal with you. Good luck :) x

Ooh and I also had a blood form to take to my doctors for a blood test (to determine blood group, if you're immune to certain diseases, etc) and a form to send off for free prescriptions x

Hello :) Congratulations.

When I had mine we went through a lot of different questions, some about family history of illness for both myself and my partner. She took a blood test and gave me lots and lots of information...some magazines about pregancy and birth and a few leaflets. She also gave me a big booklet that they write in which you need to take to each appointment you have.

To organise my scan I had to call a number a couple of days later to book.

Good Luck

when i went for my booking in appointment the midwife went through health, family history previous pregnancies took blood. she then filled out a form for for my scan. in my area it normally depends on how far pregnant you are as to when you scan is. in my area it is between 10-12 weeks normally. i was 12 days and 4 days when i had mine but i didn't see my midwife until 11 weeks. i am currently 19 weeks and go for my 20 week scan on the 27th November. good luck with your pregnancy.
